FAQ’S

How long will my order take?

Our Knives are made to order to reduce the possibility of wastage in production, please allow 7 working days for your blade to be made and shipped!

Do you accept returns?

Second Life Kitchen creates all of its products on a batch based system, and are made to order, so we cannot accept returns once your purchase is complete. Although our products go through strict quality control before shipping, we understand that damage during delivery can happen. Please contact us within the first 24 hours of delivery via email and we can investigate together.

Do you take custom orders?

Due to the nature of the Japanese knife trade, we don’t always have knives in stock, so we can only release products when our suppliers have completed the blades. Chopping boards are made entirely in-house, so simply place your order and it’ll be on its way in no time.

What are your blades made of?

The steels used for the knives can vary, I work with a range of knife makers in Japan who use different types of high-quality steels. Knives may be made of high carbon and some may be stainless or stainless clad. All the information will be listed with the knife when they’re uploaded to the store. More information will be available before release on the instagram @secondlifekitchen_.

Why does my product look different?

All of Second Life Kitchen’s products are completely handmade, so your chopping board or knife handle will be made using a set of base colours, and the way they look in the finished product will differ slightly with each one! Our suppliers in Japan also create the blades by hand, so these may also have small differences in production.
